Edward Wray
Edward Wray is non-executive Chairman. He is the co-founder of Betfair and was Chief Executive for the first three years after which he moved to Australia to set up Betfair's Australian business. He took over as Chairman in 2006 and is now based in the UK. Prior to starting Betfair Ed spent eight years at J.P. Morgan & Co. as a Vice President in the debt capital markets and derivatives area. He is Chairman of the Nominations Committee. He has been a Director since 1999.
Andrew Black
Andrew Black is the co-founder of Betfair. Betfair's unique bookmaking model is his brainchild. Andrew was a professional gambler but also worked in various product development roles for Track Data Corporation, Boxall and the Ministry of Defence. He has been a Director since August 1999.
Mike McTighe
Mike McTighe is Betfair's Senior Independent Director. Mike holds a number of Directorships, and is currently on the board of Ofcom ( The UK's regulator of the broadcasting, telecommunications and wireless communication sectors), Chairman of Pace plc, Chairman of Volex plc, and also chairman of a number of privately held technology companies. He has been a Director since November 2008.
Chris Batterham
Chris Batterham is a Chartered Accountant and has experience as a director of listed companies in both an executive and non-executive capacity. He is Chairman of the Audit Committee. He has been a Director since January 2001.
Josh Hannah
Josh Hannah was the Chief Executive and co-founder of Flutter.com which merged with Betfair in 2001. He is now one of Matrix Partners general partners and is based in San Francisco. He is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. He has been a Director since December 2001.
Fru Hazlitt
Fru Hazlitt was formerly Managing Director of GCAP Media London. Prior to this she was Chief Executive of Virgin Radio and Managing Director, Yahoo UK & Ireland. She has been a Director since March 2005.
David Yu
David Yu, formerly CTO and then COO, is Betfair's Chief Executive. David was previously Vice President, Engineering for Alta Vista's e-Commerce and International divisions. He has spent over 10 years working for internet-based businesses, and holds an MS Computer Science from Stanford University and a BS Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He has been a Director since January 2006.
Stephen Morana
Stephen Morana is Betfair's Chief Financial Officer. Stephen joined Betfair in 2002, becoming Finance Director in July 2005. Prior to Betfair, Stephen headed up the UK finance team at Sapient, the NASDAQ-listed business innovator. He has been a Director since September 2006.
Martin Cruddace
Martin Cruddace is Betfair's company secretary having joined in 2004.
